  • CHURCH PLANTING | Maranatha Community Church

Learn how our church is committed to planting gospel-centered churches that glorify God, serve communities, and make disciples of Jesus. WHY WE PLANT CHURCH PLANTING The reason Maranatha exists is to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ--and that is why we plant churches. Our cities and towns need the gospel, and the presence of gospel-proclaiming churches. As God as blessed us in our first eight years of being a church, he has also provided opportunities for his congregation to grow by stepping into more areas to tell more people about the good news of Jesus. LEARN MORE ABOUT WHO WE ARE AND HOW WE OPERATE AS A CHURCH ABOUT US OUR MISSION + BELIEFS STAFF + ELDERS FOUNDATIONS CLASS BALTIMORE Dan has been faithfully involved at Maranatha since July 2024 and has been affirmed by the Elders to plant a third Maranatha congregation. GIVE EMAIL DAN SIGN UP FOR PLANT UPDATES CANAL WINCHESTER God moved in David's heart to pursue local church ministry in 2012. As he and his wife were both serving in various roles in the church, God made it clear in 2018 that He had church planting in store for them. God brought them to join Maranatha and they began to experience what life in a church plant was like. David was installed as a pastor in 2020. A year later, Maranatha's eldership began to look ahead to a church plant. It was clear God had been preparing them to go and serve the community David grew up in, went to school in, lived in and loved. Maranatha Canal Winchester has continued to see God's faithfulness as they teach the Bible deeply and practice meaningful Christian community. GIVE EMAIL DAVID SOUTHSIDE COLUMBUS Justin Bubar serves as the Lead Pastor of this church plant. Justin and his wife Jenna share a deep love for the gospel and a burden to see Jesus Christ proclaimed clearly and faithfully. Their desire is not only to reach the outskirts of the city, but to bring the hope of the gospel to this particular area—one they believe is in great need of a church rooted in Scripture, centered on Christ, and committed to making disciples. Justin is passionate about preaching the whole counsel of God, shepherding people with care, and helping the local church live on mission for the glory of God. Together, he and his wife are prayerfully committed to seeing a healthy, gospel-shaped church established that loves its neighbors and serves its community with faithfulness and humility. • KIDS MINISTRY | Maranatha Community Church

KIDS MINISTRY The mission of Maranatha’s Kids Ministry is to assist families in imparting gospel truths that speak directly to the hearts of children. We desire to provide children and families with a God-centered, Christ-exalting, Scripture-saturated view of themselves and the world around them. We are currently offering three classes at all of our gatherings and at both locations. Toddler (Ages 1-3) Pre-School Age (Ages 4-7) School Age (Ages 8-12) When you arrive at Maranatha, look for the kids check-in booth in the Welcome Room. Here you will sign your child/children into the appropriate classroom. At the kids check-in booth you will have the opportunity to meet our volunteers and receive more details about our Kids Ministry. We value family integrated worship at Maranatha, for this reason, our children remain in our main gathering space with their families until after the first set of songs. Kids are dismissed to their classrooms during the passing of the peace. Kids Ministry Volunteers will form lines for all three classrooms in the Welcome Room during this time and walk the children to their appropriate classroom. During class time, we utilize “The Gospel Project” curriculum. Kids will study the Bible chronologically and see the gospel of Jesus Christ revealed throughout all of scripture with weekly Bible lessons, activities, and crafts. When the gathering has concluded, parents should report to the Kids booth and sign their child out. Kids are not permitted to leave the classroom until a parent/authorized guardian has signed them out. All Kids Ministry Volunteers must be members of Maranatha Community Church. Additionally, every Kids Ministry Volunteer has a background check on file with the church. FIND OUT MORE STUDENT MINISTRY Maranatha’s student ministry seeks to equip young men and women of good Christian character and discipline available to students, that they may be discipled in doctrine, prayer, worship, service, and fellowship. GROWING DISCIPLES Student Ministry exists to help junior high and high school students grow as disciples of Jesus in a Christ-centered community. Students from all Maranatha congregations—and their friends—gather to connect, worship, study God’s Word, and build meaningful relationships. Each evening includes time to settle in, engage in a group activity, spend focused time in Scripture, and break into small groups for discussion and prayer. Through worship nights, game nights, and intentional discipleship, students are encouraged to deepen their faith, ask honest questions, and learn what it looks like to follow Christ in everyday life.
